Silicone Guards for Fireshow

Fire-resistant silicone guards designed to create a protective barrier around the grip area of fire props. They help reduce direct heat transfer to your hands and make props with flames close to the grip more comfortable to handle.

They are especially useful for staffs and swords where the burning wick can come close to the hands during movement.

Installation

The guard is designed to be installed on the tube before fitting the Kevlar wick. Simply slide it onto the tube and position it where you want the additional heat barrier.

It can also be installed after the wick has already been fitted, but in that case the silicone guard will need to be cut before it can be placed around the tube.

Useful Information

The silicone provides a heat-resistant barrier, but it should not be considered fireproof.

As with any material used around an open flame, prolonged exposure to concentrated heat can eventually cause degradation. Keep the guard away from direct flame whenever possible and avoid leaving a burning prop stationary.

These guards are particularly useful when designing props where the wick needs to be positioned close to the grip and you want to add an extra layer of thermal protection without significantly changing the construction.
